Coquitlam School District invites applications for permanent school term (10 month) and casual Learning Inclusion Support Workers. As the third largest school district in the province we are located within a 40-minute drive from downtown Vancouver. The school district has a population of 32,000 students with approximately 4,300 teaching, administrative, managerial and support staff.
Working under the principal/Manager of Education Assistants, or designate, Learning Inclusion Support Workers provide supervision and assistance to students with diverse needs who are categorized as mild to moderate based on their individual assessments.
Duties:
Assists education assistants and teachers with individual and/or group support involving multiple students within classroom settings or related facilities with life skills, curriculum and academics
Encourages students’ participation in classroom activities and assist students’ with dally goals such as classroom tasks and assignments
Modifies material/instructions for students as directed by a teacher
Facilitates and encourages positive social interaction with students, staff and the community
Facilitates independence in students with regards to basic life skills
Escorts students to and from bus or taxi while on school property and arranges desks and work areas to provide ease of access
Supports students while on school property and during school wide fieldtrips
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Grade 12 plus one year of post-secondary education in a relevant field such as; Early Childhood Education, Therapeutic Recreational, Residential Care Attendant, Social Service Worker, Youth Worker, Healthcare Worker or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
A valid B.C. Class 5 driver’s license may be required.
This is a unionized position which offers $23.58 an hour, 30 hours a week.

A non-profit founded in 2000, the mission of BC Association of Farmers’ Markets (BCAFM) is to support, develop and promote member farmers’ markets across British Columbia. The Farmers Market Nutrition Coupon Program (FMNCP) Regional Coordinators will support BCAFM and participating farmers’ markets and community partners in the program delivery, systems and administration of the FMNCP in 3 focus regions. Key Responsibilities
The BCAFM is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented, highly organized individual who is able to work both independently and collaboratively. The FMNCP Regional Coordinator will report directly to the FMNCP Program Manager.
Each FMNCP Regional Coordinator will create a work plan and strategy, in collaboration with BCAFM FMNCP staff, which is uniquely tailored to the participating farmers’ markets and community partners in their region, as well as developing a community of practice.
The FMNCP Regional Coordinator positions are new and will adapt and evolve to meet the needs of the program. Outlined below are the anticipated support activities to be provided by the FMNCP Regional Coordinators.
Administrative & Logistical Support & Orientation/Training
Support partners to better fulfill the administrative and reporting duties of the FMNCP
Create and share regional specific tools and resources
Program Success & Program Innovation
Identify areas where farmers’ markets and community partners need support in order to make the program more successful.
Create opportunities for community partners and farmers’ markets in the region to communicate, work together and share information.
Media Engagement
Work with partners to create content and strategies to successfully promote the FMNCP, farmers’ markets and community partners through social media and traditional media.
Contribute to BCAFM’s newsletters and communications related to FMNCP activity in the region.
Mentorship
Support farmers’ markets to be more accessible to FMCNP participants.
Share resources to support food literacy activities at farmers’ markets and community partners
Fundraising
Support farmers’ markets and partners in their local and regional fundraising initiatives for the FMNCP, through the development of tools, mentoring and sharing resources.
Identify regional funding opportunities to support and expand the program in the region.
Support new grant applications to funders.
Province Wide Networking
Participate in FMCNP meetings, providing updates on the region and seek additional tools and information to share in the region.
Skills & Experience
A minimum of 3 years of work experience in a similar coordinator position
A high level of working knowledge of computers, databases, and software
Able to work independently and from a home office, connecting remotely with the BCAFM head office in Vancouver as needed.
Strong understanding of the FMNCP program operations, as well as farmers’ markets and community partners.
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Ability to problem solve and highly organized
Ability to take initiative and be pro-active
Strong interpersonal skills, a happy disposition, ability to exercise diplomacy, demonstrate a flexible attitude, maintain a positive focus, and use discretion with confidential information

CMHA BC Division is expanding its programming for parents and caregivers of children struggling with mental health challenges. Confident Parents, Thriving Kids (CPTK) is the largest direct service provincial program delivered by CMHA BC serving both Indigenous and non-Indigenous families.
CPTK offers help, in the form of telephone and on-line coaching, to parents and other caregivers. The program is evidence-based and provides protocol-driven, brief structured interventions effective in reducing symptoms and improving functioning in children aged 3 to 12 years of age. Through innovative delivery methods, the service strives to offer flexibility, convenience and rapid access for young families across British Columbia.
CMHA BC is launching a new service arm of CPTK operating out of CMHA’s downtown Victoria office, serving parents and caregivers of children with mild to moderate anxiety conditions.
We are seeking a half-time psychologist to provide clinical guidance to a team of parent support coaches. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits as well as flexibility in hours.
Duties
Provide clinical oversight for trained coaches who deliver a structured web and telephone based intervention to parents and caregivers of children with anxiety conditions
Conduct regular individual and group consultation sessions
Work closely with the Program Leader for Quality Assurance and Training to ensure fidelity to the intervention protocol and to enhance quality improvement
Conduct training of new coach cohorts
Assist with quality improvement efforts that enhance parent experiences and outcomes
Qualifications & Experience
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from a recognized university
Current registration with the College of Psychologists of BC or other Canadian jurisdiction
Clinical experience working with children and families
Clinical expertise in child anxiety conditions
Solid CBT knowledge and skills (CACBT certification an asset)

Food System Coordinator

POSITION FUNCTION
Provide project management and leadership to support the delivery of a variety of food security or food systems community initiatives that help to develop a more sustainable food system for the City of Victoria.
KEY DUTIES
Coordinate and implement a range of food systems initiatives including developing, updating, monitoring and interpreting City policies and guidelines related to food security and food production initiatives. Oversee and provide guidance to community groups interested in food production projects on city-held lands. Lead City initiatives on local food systems such as Growing in the City.
Work collaboratively with community stakeholders, associations and non-profit organizations to assess needs, provide guidance and support in areas such as coordination, partnership development and fundraising.
Facilitate and document meetings regarding local food systems; assist with the preparation and delivery of citizen engagement processes including disseminating posters and brochures; assist in the organization of engagement events; lead small group discussions at workshops, open houses and public meetings.
Respond to enquiries from the public and other departments and provide advice to staff, the public and outside agencies related to food security and food-related initiatives.
Represent the City on various community and City committees as needed; prepare a variety of correspondence and reports with recommendations to staff, advisory committees and Council and implement recommendations as directed.
Prepare and monitor annual budget for operational area; prepare grant submissions for funding assistance; select, coordinate, monitor and review the work of consultants as required.
