First Call: BC Child and Youth Advocacy Coalition recently released their annual BC Child Poverty Report Card for 2012. The Report Card includes ten fact sheets on child poverty in the province, which explore urgent issues including BC’s growing income inequality, the numbers behind BC`s poverty rates, poverty and parenting, and government income support programs. The report also includes specific recommendations for future action by our provincial government to address child poverty in BC and reach poverty reduction targets by 2020. With this publication, First Call BC provides insight on critical issues facing British Columbians in the lead up to the provincial election in May 2013.
