The Provincial Health Officer is the senior public health official for BC, and is responsible for monitoring the health of the population of BC and providing independent advice to the ministers and public officials on public health issues. The responsibilities of the Provincial Health Officer (PHO) are outlined in the Public Health Act.

The Senior Data Analyst will play a key role in building BC’s population health surveillance analytics and informatics capacity by leading and undertaking statistical analyses, informatics, and epidemiological design to support the development of population health surveillance initiatives. This role will also encompass representing the ministry in discussions with federal, provincial, and regional partners on population health surveillance initiatives; representing the ministry at population health surveillance and health statistics committees, conferences, or working groups; and providing expert advice on the interpretation to  ministry leadership (e.g., Provincial Health Officer ADM for Population and Public Health, Deputy Minister) on population health measurements, analysis, and implications.

 

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Master’s Degree in public health, health sciences, health information sciences, statistics, and computer sciences or other relevant fields and 5 years related experience or Bachelor’s Degree and 7 years related experience.
    • Significant experience with data analytics, including data management, manipulation, and statistical modelling (e.g. logistic regression and spatial analysis).

AIDP/ASCD Provincial Office – Administrative Assistant

The Aboriginal Infant Development Program (AIDP) and Aboriginal Supported Child Development Program (ASCD) Provincial Office is seeking an experienced administrative assistant. This position is full time (35 hours per week) with benefits. The office is located in Victoria, B.C. with some occasional travel required. The provincial office supports approximately 100 AIDP and ASCD programs throughout B.C.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with AIDP/ASCD Provincial Advisors to facilitate communication with all AIDP/ASCD Programs, 10 AIDP/ASCD regional advisors, numerous ECD stakeholders and Provincial Advisory Committee.
  • Provide administrative support to Provincial Advisors including managing phone calls, mail, files, contact lists, reporting, invoices and cheque requisitions.
  • Coordination of AIDP/ASCD Provincial Advisory Committee meetings, book venue, meal menu, assemble and circulate meeting materials and minute taking.
  • Support the AIDP Provincial Advisor and Professional Development Fund Committee
  • Support the ASCD Provincial Advisor and Partnerships Project Committee and activities.
  • Website maintenance. (Mainly updating and removing outdated material, post training, announcements, links etc.)

 

 

Competencies and Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary education or equivalent related to office administration and management.
  • Working knowledge and experience in office management systems and procedures.
  • Proven experience as an administration assistant with general and key duties and responsibilities of day-to-day office activities.
  • Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, website maintenance, social media.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Comfort working with people of all ages from a culturally safe, Aboriginal philosophy.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and urban Aboriginal service organizations.
  • Planning and coordination of committee meetings
  • Successfully undergo criminal record check and vulnerable sector check

The Pharmacy Services Unit of the Product Distribution Centre, a full-service inventory management and distribution facility, processes and supplies all medications to correctional centres throughout the province. The Regulated Pharmacy Technicians dispense and distribute prescription drugs, narcotics and controlled drugs, O.T.C. drugs and sundries and have independent authority, responsibility and liability to sign off on dispensed prescriptions.

As Pharmacy Technician, you reliably dispense and distribute pharmaceuticals to fill medication orders and prescriptions. Detail oriented, you verify orders to ensure accuracy, maintain paperwork and report discrepancies to your supervisor. As a graduate of a pharmacy technical program, you utilize your experience and knowledge to complete tasks while ensuring a high degree of confidentially is preserved. In a fast paced environment, you work efficiently as a part of a team to compete a high volume of orders. An effective communicator, you respond to telephone enquiries and requests from other departments. In this role, you are required to count, label and separate medication into containers, monitor medications, ensure work areas are sterilized and retrieve stocks from storage. Qualifications for this role include:

Current Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia; operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and scope and standards of practice as outlined by the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia and relevant legislation, and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols.

 

Preference will be given to applicants with:

• Experience working in a pharmacy environment;
• Experience dispensing Methadone and Suboxone;
• Experience with automated Methadone dispensing machinery (e.g. Methameasure);

The Resource Management tele-dietitian develops high quality consumer and professional nutrition resources, in collaboration with stakeholders, for use by Dietitian Services, the public, health professionals and the media, through the CC-PEN nutrition knowledge base and through the HealthLink BC public website, and through provision of subject matter expertise for stakeholder provincial nutrition resource development. Service delivery channels include telephone, print, web and email. The position reports to the Lead, Resource Management, Dietitian & Physical Activity Services and collaborates with Dietitians of Canada to contribute to the Practice-based Evidence in Nutrition (PEN) system.

 

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Registered Dietitian, registered in good standing with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia.
  • Minimum of four (4) years recent relevant experience as a registered dietitian.
  • Work experience demonstrating strong clinical and nutrition education and counselling skills acquired in hospital, community, long-term care and/ or private practice settings.
  • Experience in applied research and critical appraisal of scientific literature.
  • Experience developing practice guidelines and consumer education resources, and writing for public and health professionals.
  • Computer experience with relevant software i.e. electronic health records, MS Office, etc.
  • Experience in media interviews and public speaking considered an asset.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with evidence of completion of the Dietitians of Canada’s Evidence-Based Decision Making – Online Course, education in adult education, and/or writing for publication or journalism.

 

 

Salary $60,531.87 – $69,104.56 annually
