A unique opportunity in Canadian healthcare leadership is available with the position of President, BC Children’s and Women’s Health and Vice President, Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA). Given the province-wide responsibility of BC Children’s Hospital & Sunny Hill Health Centre (BCCH), BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre (BCW), Perinatal Services BC, Child Health BC, Child and Family Research Institute (CFRI) and Women’s Health Research Institute (WHRI), the complex nature of this mandate and role is not for just anyone. It will take an extraordinary individual who understands service delivery in a complex and specialized healthcare environment. The President, BC Children’s and Women’s Health and Vice President, PHSA will lead the way in establishing priorities and providing seasoned guidance around decision making within the agencies, services and programs of BCCH and BCW, and will inspire, motivate and influence with a compassionate but decisive leadership style. This role will also oversee the final stages of the new Teck Acute Care Centre opening fall 2017, which will be the heart of the BC Children’s Hospital and the flagship for the transformation of child health in BC.
