We currently have 2 full time permanent positions available. 1 position may be 2 part time positions. Full-time positions involve 2 day shifts (12.25 hours per shift), 2 night shifts (12.25 hours per shift) followed by 6 days off.

Your starting salary will be determined by your qualifications and years of experience in accordance with the BC Nurses Union (BCNU) Master Agreement.

Youth Custody Services provides Secure and Open sentenced custody as well as remand and pre-court detention for male and female youth in custody under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Youth Justice contributes to public safety by promoting the development of law-abiding behaviour primarily through an integrated, multi-disciplinary approach.

 

As a Nurse, you are a member of the interdisciplinary team and provide comprehensive nursing care to youth in custody under the general direction of the Health Care Services Supervisor, or Correctional Supervisor. You consult with youth, families, and members of the interdisciplinary team and develop individual plans supporting needs of youth in custody.

 

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Registered or eligible for registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Experience working with adolescents from diverse cultural backgrounds is preferred.
  • Level 2 OFA (has to be completed upon appointment)
