The Overdose Emergency Response Centre (OERC) is the province’s central hub for taking immediate action to address the overdose emergency. The OERC coordinates services across the province, evaluates the results and monitors the impacts of the crisis and interventions on communities across B.C. The OERC also undertakes strategic planning and policy development to guide B.C.’s overdose emergency response.
In this role, you will oversee the implementation of several provincial overdose prevention-related strategies and interventions. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team that collaborates with other ministries, health authorities, public agencies, affected communities, people and families with lived/living experience to escalate the response to the overdose emergency. You will also be responsible for expanding partnerships and designing and leading innovative, evidence-informed solutions to the overdose emergency. This will include pharmaceutical alternatives to the toxic drug supply and nurse prescribing.

Qualifications for this role include:
- Degree (Master’s degree preferred) in social work, nursing, epidemiology, public health, public administration or related field and 3 years or more recent, related experience (preference may be given to candidates with 5 years recent, related experience.
- Two (2) years or more experience working in the health care sector.
Recent related experience must include:
- Planning, evaluating and implementing service delivery.
- Managing relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Leading consultation sessions.
- Leading teams to develop and implement a diverse range of projects.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
