BC’s Restart Plan — Next Steps to Move BC Through the Pandemic — May 6

As of May 1, 2020, more than 2,100 British Columbians have tested positive for COVID-19 and more than 100 people have died.

As the pandemic hit B.C., we asked British Columbians to do their part and they took action to stay home and help flatten the curve. With each day, the rate of growth in COVID-19 cases has steadily declined and more than 1,350 people have recovered. And we have the lowest mortality of any jurisdiction in North America with a population of more than five million.

We are excited to have Dr. Trevor Hancock and Dr. Maya Gislason as our scientific program co-chairs for this year’s school. We will be releasing more information on the summer school; it’s agenda, featured speakers, registration, etc., in the coming weeks. To keep up to date on everything summer school related, please keep checking back on our website under the summer school tab. CMHA Mental Health Week May 4 to 10, 2020

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) holds Mental Health Week (MHW) during the first week of May each year. This year’s theme is social connection and its importance for mental health. We can all benefit from emotional and social support, but it’s even more crucial during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year’s campaign calls for us to #GetReal about how we really feel.
We say we’re fine, even when the truth can be very different. Every time we just go through the motions, we miss out on the chance to connect for real. In times of crisis like this, we need each other more than ever.
Connecting doesn’t just feel good – it’s good for our mental health.
