The Department of Medicine, Vancouver Coastal Health, invites applications and nominations for the position of Head, Division of Cardiology at Vancouver General Hospital – a leading referral centre for cardiovascular care in British Columbia. The Division of Cardiology is comprised of 30 cardiologists encompassing the complete spectrum of advanced cardiology care and education.
Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is one of BC’s largest healthcare organizations, delivering services to nearly 25% of the province’s population. Well regarded for its treatment-oriented research, it is also home, through its affiliation with the University of British Columbia, to strong teaching programs that foster a dynamic environment for continued learning, and sectors of world class research in Structural Heart Disease, Women’s Cardiology, Cardiac Oncology and Electrophysiology.
We are searching for an outstanding candidate who has proven leadership ability, administrative experience and clinical credibility. The successful applicant must be eligible for licensure in the Province of British Columbia, and will be expected to work closely with the UBC Head of Cardiology and VCH Administration on advancing the excellence of the Vancouver General Hospital Division of Cardiology. Additonal roles and responsibilities include representation in the Regional Cardiac Program and with Cardiac Services BC.
The successful candidate will possess an FRCPC in Internal Medicine and a Certificate of Special Competence in Cardiology, or its equivalent, and must be eligible for licensure in the Province of British Columbia. Candidates should possess exceptional communication and teaching skills.
