Farm to School BC – Farm to School Month

Farm to School BC Celebrates

Farm to School Month!

Victoria, BC: October is Farm to School Month, and Farm to School BC is proud to be celebrating the hard work of students, teachers and school communities across the province who grow, cook and eat healthy food. We are also pleased to announce that Farm to School BC is accepting applications to receive up to $3,500 to kick-start a Farm to School program for new applicants, and up to $1,000 for previous recipients to expand their existing program.  For more information and to apply, please go to https://farmtoschoolbc.ca/farm-to-school-bc-grant-application-form-2018/, or click here (deadline November 19, 2018).

To help us celebrate, we are launching our first Farm to School BC Photo Contest. Submit a photo of your Farm to School activity with a catchy caption, and enter for a chance to win one of five $100 stipends to go toward your Farm to School program! For more details, please click here. All schools are encouraged to participate!  Just because you don’t have a formal Farm to School program or grant doesn’t mean that you aren’t supporting our cause. By promoting local and healthy food through hands on learning opportunities that foster school-community connectedness, you are already a superstar!

Learn about Farm to School BC activities that are sprouting across the province in the form of stories and photos via Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/farmtoschoolbc), Twitter (@farmtoschoolbc) and Instagram (farmtoschoolbc).
