Growing a Universal School Meal Program

March 31, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Join the Vancouver Food Policy Council to learn about how the federal and provincial governments are exploring how to grow school meal programs. Together we’ll identify the values and priorities of our school food programs. Join us in envisioning what our future school meal program can be! Come learn from our esteemed panel about the impact school food can have on our students’ health and academic achievement, local economic development, environmental sustainability, Indigenous Food Systems, and more:

  • Dr. Jennifer Gaddis, associate professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and author of the Labor of Lunch: Why We Need Real Food and Real Jobs in American Public Schools.
  • Braden Etzerza, Indigenous Lead of the BC Chapter of the Coalition for School Food
