If you stopped working because of COVID-19, the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) may provide you with temporary income support.
The CERB provides $500 a week for up to 16 weeks.
How to apply
We will start accepting applications on April 6.
Prior to April 6, individuals who are without work and are eligible for EI can continue to apply for Employment Insurance.

If you develop symptoms, use the BC COVID-19 Self-Assessment Tool to help determine if you need further assessment or testing for COVID-19. You can complete this assessment for yourself, or on behalf of someone else, if they are unable to.

A Vancouver tech company is launching a free app, meant to help health-care workers manage their lives outside of work as they battle the COVID-19 pandemic.
The app, called Blue, was originally designed to help people who are caring for a loved one with a serious injury, illness or dementia, said Caregiver Support Technologies CEO Tom Masterson.
The app, which behaves like a chat bot, goes through the support team until it finds someone who can do the task, and coordinates all the details.
