We have one permanent position in Port Moody. Multiple temporary opportunities in North and South Fraser Service Delivery Area (Base: Port Moody and Surry) until 12/31/2022 that may be extended and/or become permanent.

 

The Roots Practitioner will explore the Indigenous child’s family and community for the purpose of cultural connections, relationships and permanency. The position is responsible to develop and to facilitate programs in order to support cultural connections for children and their families and to promote cultural understanding for caregivers and staff.

Qualifications for this role include:

• Diploma or higher in Health/Human Service or related field plus related experience; Or
• Certificate in Health/Human Service or related field plus 2 years related experience.

 

Related Experience must include: Experience working with Indigenous families and communities.

 

Preference may be given to applicants with:

• Experience working with Indigenous children and youth in care.
• Experience developing and/or facilitating programs/events that promote cultural understanding and or cultural teachings and awareness.
• Applicants who have experience working with Indigenous communities with demonstrated links to those communities.
• Applicants who have Indigenous heritage (First Nations, Metis or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.
