Diana Daghofer is a seasoned public health consultant, with over 20 years of experience, primarily in knowledge translation – writing and disseminating examples of best practices, tools and approaches to public health, focusing largely on the social determinants of health (SDH). As a passionate proponent of a social determinants approach to health, Diana is pleased to have had the opportunity to carry her work from the academic – developing an online, introductory course on the SDH – to the policy world – creating a framework for action for Canada – and to the grass-roots – conducting a public engagement process to develop a city-wide poverty reduction strategy.
From literature reviews to outreach and advocacy pieces, Diana applies her research and writing skills to areas she believes will have the biggest impact on the health of the population. Always applying a SDH, areas of interest are mental health, the built environment and public health human resource development.
