SUMMARY:Webinar: Acting across sectors - frameworks for moving forward on the social determinants of health
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the National Collaborating Centre for Determinants of Health \nFrameworks are often used to visually represent complex ideas or concepts. Numerous frameworks exist to help explain the relationship between the social determinants and health experiences and outcomes. The Canadian Council on the Social Determinants of Health\, a multi sectoral council commissioned a review of existing frameworks to identify those that support action across multiple sectors. \nThe review provides in-depth analysis of the seven frameworks deemed most useful for the purposes of leveraging action across sectors. These frameworks and the accompanying analysis can help shift public health practice towards more intersectoral\, development-oriented upstream approaches. \nThis webinar will: \n\nExplore components of relevant frameworks that support action across sectors\nHighlight the use of selected frameworks in practice and policy settings\nDiscuss future directions for the development and application of frameworks\n\nAdvisors on tap: \n\nConnie Clement\, Scientific Director\, National Collaborating Centre for Determinants of Health\nJoey Edwardh\, Executive Director\, Community Development Halton\nTrevor Hancock\, Professor and Senior Scholar\, School of Public Health and Social Policy University of Victoria\nSume Ndumbe-Eyoh\, Knowledge Translation Specialist\, National Collaborating Centre for Determinants of Health\n\nClick here to register. \nResource: Canadian Council on Social Determinants of Health.
