BC Chapter of the
Coalition for Healthy School Food
The time for healthy school food is now. Canada remains the only G7 country without a national school food program. This is despite the mounting evidence that universal school food programs can encourage positive health and education outcomes in children from all socio-economic backgrounds. Across Canada, people are calling for a national school food program that will promote healthy eating behaviours and food literacy from a young age.
Help us secure a universal school food program for BC students. The BC Chapter of the Coalition for Healthy School Food is advocating for public investment in a universal, healthy school food program for K-12 students. The BC Chapter collaborates with teachers, parents, community organizations, farmers, health professionals and other across BC and Canada on advocacy, outreach and research projects. With your help, we can strengthen our efforts to secure a universal school food program that meets the diverse needs of all BC students.
