BC Poverty Reduction Coalition – hiring Communications and Outreach Assistant

Position details: Part-time (2 days/week) position from October 2015 to October 2016. Possibility of contract extension and/or additional hours, fundraising permitting.

Vancity Community Foundation operates as Secretariat for the BC Poverty Reduction Coalition so the position is coordinated through their office in downtown Vancouver and the successful applicant will be a Vancity employee.

Salary: Gross salary at 0.4-time for 12 months will be $18,950.

The BC Poverty Reduction Coalition (BCPRC) aims to raise public awareness about poverty in BC and build support for a provincial poverty reduction plan from the government of British Columbia. We are seeking a Communications and Outreach Assistant to support the BCPRC’s ongoing communications and outreach efforts under the direction of the Community Organizer. It involves a mix of strategic communications, youth and community engagement, facilitation, creative services and administration.
